Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) is a sintered product used in many industrial applications, particularly in the field of cutting tools. The PCD is supplied in particles of 57 / 60 mm in diameter and has three different particle size classes: standard (25 μm), fine (10 μm) and ultrafine (2 μm). In most cases, the finer the particle size of the diamond, the better the quality of the cutting edge, but there is a disadvantage: the smaller the crystal, the more fragile the cutting edge. Very fine grains are useful only when you are cutting extremely abrasive materials.
